Research Experience

McNair Scholar Graduate

  • Designed, proposed, funded, coordinated, researched, presented, and published a biocultural research project examining the sociocultural implications and influences of pop-cultural representations of forensic anthropology methods.
  • Applied discipline-standard methods based on what could be observed in pop-cultural sources, such as the OSSA and decision-tree modeling method, and applied these methodologically in multiple settings and institutions.
  • Presented findings at the McNair Scholar’s Symposium (Portland State University, August 2022).

Graduate Research

  • Focused on forensic standards of morphometric and morphoscopic methods and their accuracy over time concerning morphological variations in constructing a biological profile.
  • Used statistical modeling to track and create a frequency distribution of measurements to determine accuracy and validate progress over time using Excel and Stata.
  • Culminating in a portfolio presentation at Portland State University in Spring 2024.
